"Mentoring is a brilliant way of not only giving back, but learning new skills and developing yourself. Like everything my approach definitely needed modifying from my military career, but some of the core aspects of mentoring were certainly carried over from that time too.
I’ve had the huge privilege of supporting Generation Success this year offering mentorship to an aspiring young business professional and helping them shift roles, settle and grow their career and sense of purpose.
In doing so I’ve learned an incredible amount about how my mentee sees the world of work (spoiler: different to me); how they see the concept of a “career” and found out more about aligning purpose, passion and vocation. We co-designed strategies, plans and communication themes that helped them realise their goals and potential.
